My baby girl is the one thing that keeps me going and is always there for me when I want somebody around (and when I don't).
(That's me with my little girl)
Right now as I type this, she's digging my bed. Like most canines, she has to make her bed before going to sleep; rather annoying when I've got myself comfy and wrapped up in the duvet. Yes, I will admit that she does sleep on my bed (or more commonly underneath it). She also likes to go under my bed when she is feeling guilty for having done something bad, or if she happens to have stolen something! Her place of security - so yes, I really do have a monster under my bed! (not so much of a monster)...
My lovely dog has been referred to as many animals. The first 16 weeks of her life she was named Bunny, but one morning this face stared down at me from above and it was obvious that Bunny was the wrong name for her. When she steals things (such as my wallet) and sneaks under the bed with them she is referred to as a "cheeky monkey". When she plays, she has a habit of swiping the toy with her paws, rather like a "kitty cat". My brother said a week ago after I asked if my dog was still behind me as I couldn't feel her on the lead - that no there wasn't a dog behind me but that "there is a sheep". Dozy-doodles is sometimes so lazy that she very often gets called a sloth, and when she is being daft for example running into the doors is referred to as a do-do. When she sneaks up onto my lap when I'm sat at the table doing crafts, she is referred to as a snake for snaking her way onto me. If she sleeps on my bed, she's a wiggle worm. My dad reckons she is some sort of oversized teddy bear; used to be a polar bear when she was younger. All in all I think the whole family will agree she is a sheep, but the reality is she seems to be every single animal except for a dog!
Sheep impersonation.
True to her breed, she is a very quick learner, she knew the sit and down commands at 7 weeks old after just 30 mins of training. Due to her ability to learn things quick, she also becomes rather bored quickly, so I've been teaching her some rather obscure tricks - although no doggy dancing for her!
My dog will play with toys for a short while before getting bored (depending what sort of toy it is) it took a long while for her to understand that playing with toys was fun - she didn't start to like playing or retrieving until she was 1 year 4 months old. She does however and always has had a LOVE of bubbles! Here is her with her first birthday present!
She has been with me since I first became very ill from the Crohns and has helped me battle it all the way. Without her, I don't think I'd have had the strength to be where I am today. My dog is my everything to me. Now all I've got to do, is teach her the fact, that she IS a dog!
